Obituary for James Edward Mallory

James Edward “Ed” Mallory, 80 of Franklin, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022.

Ed was born in Princeton, West Virginia, to the late James Conrad Mallory and Emma Bratton Mallory. After graduating from Princeton High School, Ed completed his undergraduate studies at Emory & Henry College in Virginia and then completed his graduate studies at the University of Tennessee where he received his Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry. Ed was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Franklin.

He is survived by his children wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Carole Watson Mallory; children, Steve Mallory (Rebecca Hope) of Greenville, TN, and John Edward Mallory (Jenni) of Lawrenceville, GA; and sister Margery Jo Baldwin of Richmond, KY; four grandchildren, Jordon Mallory (Rachael) of Alexandria, VA, LilliBeth Mallory, Anna Mallory, and Eva Mallory all of Lawrenceville, GA; Step granddaughters, Kelly Grieb (Jacob) of Johnson City TN, Holly Hope (Wes) of Greenville, TN and step great grandchildren, Hank Hope and Wren Hope and Hadley Grieb and Harmon Grieb.

A visitation will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at First United Methodist Church of Franklin, followed by a service at 12:12pm.

Rev. David Beam, Rev. Vic Green, and Rev. Margaret Freeman will officiate.
