James Edward Locklear, age 77, born May 10, 1928, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, November 2, 2005.

He was the son of the late Ottman Locklear and Sallie Immanuel Locklear. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Edward Locklear, Jr. and a sister, Geraldine Locklear. He was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church and was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener.

He was the dear husband of Lorene Detherage Locklear and father of Darlene Locklear, Kathy Clark, and Marie Scott.; two stepchildren William Bowers and Cheryl Tabor. He is also survived by 4 brothers, Ben Brewington, Elvin Brewington, Jimmy Ray Brewington and Ralph Brewington; 4 sisters, Magdalene Bullard, Jean Conley, Lucille Locklear and Cerosha Way; 7 grandchildren: Tina, Tammy, Kim, Jim, Bruce, Amy, and Bill; 9 great-grandchildren: Kristen, Nicholas, Cody, Cory, C.J., Brooke, Paige, Tyler, and Jesse; and one great-great-grandchild, Madison.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 6, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Pastor Frank Rodriguez and Reverend Howard Southard will officiate. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-3 pm on Sunday, November 6 at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Benny Hampton, Mike Ledford, Bobby Ledford, Ronnie Ledford, Mitchell Bowman and Roy Smith.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Ledford, Jim Westland, Sam Lee, Willis Teem, Robert Maney and Gene Cheek.
