Jack Stamey, 73, of Franklin, died Thursday, September 13, 2007.

Born in Macon County, he was the son of Grace Bates Stamey and the late Howard Cleveland Stamey. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Watts who died August 15, 2006. Jack was a car salesman and a member of the Newfound Conservative Baptist Church and was looking forward to the birth of his grandson.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Florence Bates Stamey; two daughters, Diane Queen and husband Wayne and Darlene Elkins and husband Herman all of Franklin; two brothers, Sherill Stamey and wife Mary Ellen and Lloyd Stamey and wife Joyce all of Franklin; brother-in-law, Derald Watts of Franklin; five grandchildren, Jackie Elkins and her fiance Todd Forster, Chris Queen and his wife Amy, Carrie Elkins, Derald Queen and wife Crystal and Chelsie Queen; three great grandchildren, Dustin, Gracie and Bethany Queen; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, September 16, at Prentiss Church of God. Rev. Don Moffitt and Rev. Don Bates will officiate. Burial will be in the Rush Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, September 15, at Prentiss Church of God.

Pallbearers will be Derald Queen, Chris Queen, Jamie Stamey, Todd Forster, David Jones, Scottie Stamey, Tyler Stamey and Coleman Stamey.
