Obituary for J D Reece

J D  Reece
J.D. Reece, 89, of Franklin, NC, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2009.
Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late Frank W. Reece and Margie Waldroop Reece. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Bill Reece and sister, Lucille Hunter. J.D. owned R&W Motors; worked for Allison Motor Company for 12 years and worked for Macon Furniture Mart for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Franklin.
He is survived by Helen Browning Reece of Bryson City; a son, Gary Reece of Bryson City; a brother, Ed Reece of Sarasota, FL and three grandchildren, Brock, Leigh-anna and Kayla Reece.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2009 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Dusek and Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Brock Reece, Tommy Reece, John Waldroop, Andy Holden, Rick Cutshaw and Allan Mashburn.
Jim Nichols, Bruce Bryant, JP Moore, Bill Cansler and Milton Scott will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
