Hildegarde Simonne Chasse, 96, of Franklin, passed away, April 27, 2008.

Born in Fall River, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Hildebert Gagne and Emma Gagnon Gagne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Edward Chasse who died in 1964; brother, Conrad A. Gagne and two sisters, Emma Berube and Rita Gagne; and grandson, Ronnie Jones who died in 2006. She was clothing inspector for the Fall River Sportswear Co, before retiring in 1972. Hildegarde graduated from B.M.C. Durfee High School, Fall River, Mass. in 1930. She was a former parishioner of SS Peter and Paul Parish and a member of the church senior citizens group, the AARP; former member of Flint Senior Citizens Club; a member of the Fall River Senior Senate, and member of the Massachusetts Senior Action Committee. She attended St. Francis Catholic Church, Franklin, NC.

She is survived by five children, Roger Leon Chassee and wife Maureen of Somerset, MA, Conrad Chasse and wife Mary Ann of Orlando, FL, Claudette Jones of Franklin, Carol Beaulieu and husband Don of Fall River, MA and Paulette Reagan and husband Ron of Folsom, CA; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service will be held Thursday, May 1, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River.

A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. Francis Catholic Church.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements.
