Hesby Grady Crisp, 70, of Franklin, passed away Friday, February 8, 2008, at St. Joseph Hospital in Asheville after a period of declining health.

A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Grady and Elva Crisp. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Midge Dendy Crisp; a sister, Christine Crisp of Manassas and a brother Rev. Edwin Crisp of Franklin. Hesby spent much of his adult life in Manassas and Spotsylvania, VA where he worked in the construction business. He retired in 1999 and moved back to Franklin, NC where he was an active member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. While in Virginia, Hesby was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Manassas and later Spotswood Baptist Church in Fredericksburg.

He is survived by a daughter, Cheri Crisp Borden and husband Roger of Orange, VA; one son, Dwayne Crisp and wife Pam of Fredericksburg, VA; sister, Lucille Crisp Tippett of Franklin; two brothers, Bobby Crisp of Fredericksburg, VA and Billy Crisp of Manassas, VA; seven grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, February 10, at Macon Funeral Home.

Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 11, at Holly Springs Baptist Church. Pastor Eddie Trull will officiate. Private burial will be at a later date.
