Obituary for Helen Brown Dishner (Dryman)
Helen Brown Dishner, of Clarkesville, GA, formerly of Franklin NC, passed away at her residence on September 18, 2022.
Helen was born in Scaly Mountain, NC, to the late Olin and Edna Brown Dryman. She was a caregiver and always enjoyed taking care of others and she received that same loving care from her caregiver Brenda and the Amedisys hospice nurses.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband George Ray Dishner. She was also preceded in death by her sons: Kenneth Ray and Phillip Lee Dishner, brothers: Cecil and Wayne Dryman, and sisters; Mae Tucker and Mary Roper.
Helen is survived by her daughter Renee Smagur (Richard), seven grandchildren; Amanda Scheese (Matthew), Richard “Trey” Smagur III, Jacob Smagur (Calesa Forbes), Sarah Bianchi (Chris), Zachary Smagur, Maggie Smagur, and Brook Broughton (Dillon) and 7 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held October 4, 2022, at 2pm in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1pm-2pm one hour prior to the service. Immediately after the service a social gathering of friends will be held at Macon Funeral Home.
