Obituary for Hazel Walker (Matlock)

Hazel M. Walker, 92, of Franklin, entered into rest on Sunday, March 27, 2005.

A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late John Bowman Matlock and Lily Mason Matlock. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Herbert Cantrell, second husband, Julius Walker; a daughter, Alberta Jane Cantrell, a son, Howard Roy Cantrell and four sisters and eight brothers. Hazel was a member of Iotla Baptist Church, the Joy Club, the Missionary Society and the Cowee Quilters Guild.

She is survived by three children, Bertha Lee Alfredson and her husband, Milton, Patsy Smith and Wanda Jones and her husband, Roy all of Franklin; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves and Rev. Shawn Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in the Snowhill Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday, March 28, at Macon Funeral Home.

Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
