Obituary for Hayes J. Carver

Hayes J.  Carver
Hayes J. Carver, 85, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010.

Born in Jackson Co., he was the son of the late Wayne Carver and Sarah R. Castle Carver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant daughter, Linda Ann Carver; four brothers, Frank Carver, Andrew Nelson Carver, James Wesley Carver and Kenneth Carver; a sister, Martha Claire Childers and two grandsons, William Lawrence Bates and Clyde Lee Bates. Hayes was a mechanic; taxi driver and gunsmith. He enjoyed making banjos and knives. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth Pauline Passmore Carver of Franklin; a son, Bobby Ray Carver Sr. of Franklin; four daughters, Maxine Carver Greene, Ella Faye Carver, Nella Mae Carver and Rosey L. Green all of Franklin; a sister, Bonnelle Wilson of Sylva; two brothers, Bill Carver of Franklin and Sherman Carver of Mt. Holly, NC; sixteen grandchildren; thirty eight great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 28, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Howard Southard and Rev. Jamie Passmore will officiate. Burial will be in the Holly Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Ray Carver Jr., Michael Carver, David Green, Melvin Houston, Timothy Carver, Donovan Carver and William Scott.
