Obituary for Harry Waller

Harry  Waller
Harry H. Waller, Jr., 81, of Buford, GA, formerly of Franklin, NC, passed away Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008.

Born in Orlando, FL, he was the son of the late Harry H. Waller, Sr. and Mildred Smith Waller. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean and brother Benjamin. Harry served in the U.S. Marine Corp Reserves during WWII. He studied voice music at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. Harry was a Broadcast Announcer for WFLA TV (NBC Affiliate) and taught voice music at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa and Eckerd College in St. Petersburg. He was a member of South Macon Baptist Church serving as Sunday School Teacher, director of music and pianist.

He is survived by five children, Ellen Staley of Bulhead City, AR, Judy Shiple of Burke, VA, Katie Fonte of Tampa, FL, Jaye P. Mestre of Tallahassee, FL and John R. Hamon, Sr. of Cumming, GA; two sisters, Carolyn Heagey and Rosalee Moore both of Tampa, FL; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a large extended family.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, at South Macon Baptist Church. Rev. Lewis Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the Booth Family and Friends Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
