Glenda Henderson Cook, 61, of Franklin, NC, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2007.
A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Glen and Mable Dills Henderson. Glenda was preceded in death by her brother, Jake Henderson. She was a loving mother and had a special way with the children she provided care for in her home. Over the years, she had a wonderful influence on many children in the community. Glenda was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald "Jerry" Cook; two children, Sherry Sitton and her husband Lee of Franklin, and Susan Cook of Franklin; two stepchildren David Cook and Tammy Harris of Virginia; two brothers Arley Henderson and his wife Geraldine, Sam Henderson and his wife Patsy; one sister Helen Tallent and her husband Theodore all of Franklin; three grandchildren, Noah Sitton, Maggie Cook, and Callie Cook of Franklin; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 23, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Brian Holland will officiate. Burial will be in the Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, December 22,2007 at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Tallent, Jerry Tallent, Jonathan Tallent, Vick Henderson, Rodney Sanders and Randy Cochran.
