Obituary for Gladys Elmore

Gladys R. Elmore, 91, of Franklin, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 26, 2005.

A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie M. Rogers and Louise Hall Rogers. She was married to the late Charles A. Elmore. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Stevenson and Lena Evitte. Gladys received her BA degree in Elementary Education from Western Carolina University and received a masters degree from Appalachian State. She was a retired school teacher teaching 30 years at Cowee Elementary School. She was a member of the Macon County Retired Teachers Association. Gladys was a member of Snowhill Methodist Church where she was a former sunday school teacher.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 6, at Snowhill Methodist Church. Rev. Donna Cobb and Rev. William W. McNeill will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Snowhill Methodist Church, 330 Snowhill Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
