Obituary for Gladys Eavenson (Baldwin)

Gladys Baldwin Eavenson, 80, of Medina, Washington, formerly of Maggie Valley, NC entered into rest Sunday, June 19, 2005.

A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Harley Baldwin and Allie Humphries Baldwin. She was preceded in death by a son Jimmy Eavenson; four brothers, Bert, Vernon, Bill and Howard Baldwin and a sister, Olatta Wells. She and her family built and operated the Tanglewood Motel in Maggie Valley, NC for 25 years retiring in 1979.

She is survived by a daughter, Trisha Marstad and husband Norman of Medina, Washington; two sisters, Margaret Guest of Franklin and Thelma Freeman of Hendersonville, NC; two brothers, Harold Baldwin and wife Margie of Marietta, GA and Charles Baldwin and wife Joanie of Orange, Texas; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, at Patton United Methodist Church. Rev. Keith Newell will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, at Patton United Methodist Church.

Memorial donations may be made to the Patton United Methodist Church, Children's Ministry, C/O Gary Holland, 65 Scroggs Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
