Obituary for Gerald Doane "Jerry" Cook

Gerald Doane "Jerry"  Cook
Gerald “Jerry” Doane Cook, 68, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2009.
Born in Gap Mills, WV, he was the son of the late Gilmer Patton Cook Sr. and Maggie King Cook. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Henderson Cook, who passed away December 20, 2007 and brother, Gilmer Patton Cook Jr. Jerry retired from B & K Construction in 2006. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
He is survived by four children, Sherry Sitton and husband Lee of Franklin, Susan Cook of Franklin, David Cook of Covington, VA and Tammy Harris also of Covington, VA; sister, Shirley May and husband Ashby of Bacova, VA; four grandchildren, Noah Sitton, Maggie, Callie and Christopher Cook and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Brian Holland will officiate. Burial will be in the Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Tallent, Jerry Tallent, Jonathan Tallent,
Morris Stockton, Mickey Mace, Rodney Sanders and Randy Cochran.
Memorial donations can be made to the Hospice House Foundation, PO Box 815, Franklin, NC 28744.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
