George “Abby” Ashby Winstead III, 59, of Franklin, NC, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2009.
Born in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Dr. George Ashby Winstead Jr. and Jackie McVea Winstead. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Graham Winstead. George received his Bachelor’s Degree in engineering. He was a Master Gardener and enjoyed landscaping tremendously. He was the owner of Master Scapes Landscaping. He was of the Methodist faith and loved his church and working in all areas of the church.
George is survived by his two children, Brandee Winstead and Ashby Winstead both of Franklin; aunt, Frances Winstead of Franklin and a granddaughter, Caitlin Winstead of Greenville, SC.
A Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2009 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service.
