George William Drengwitz, 81, of Franklin, passed away Friday, July 25, 2008.
Born in Springfield, IL, he was the son of the late Otto Drengwitz and Ester Bahlow Drengwitz. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Drengwitz. He was a US Navy WWII veteran and retired from CR Industries. George was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus serving as Grand Knight for four years.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Catherine “Kitty” Marren Drengwitz; one sister, Suzie Cornwell of Athens, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Father Tien H. Duong will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Springfield, IL.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of your choice.
