Obituary for Garl C. Parris

Garl C. Parris, 98, of Franklin, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 19, 2005.

A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late John Ransom Parris and Sally Ann Wike Parris. He was married to the late Alta Ethel Henley Parris who died April 7, 1991 and was preceded in death by a son, John Keith Parris who died March 20, 2004 and two sisters, Dollie Jenkins and Bonnie Ledford and four brothers, Grady, Bennett, Wheeler and Everett. Garl retired from Ford Motor Company. He was an avid gardener, loved genealogy and will be greatly missed by his family.

He is survived by one brother, Fred Parris of Jackson County, NC; two grandchildren, Carolyn Loacano and John Parris both of Franklin; two great grandchildren, Angela and Andrew Loacano; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 22, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Vic Greene will officiate. Burial will be in the Cadillac Cemetery, Garden City, Michigan.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 21, and from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, at Macon Funeral Home.
