Charles “Frank” Deal, 77, of Sylva, NC, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2008.
Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late Jake Palmer Deal and Aver Watts Deal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Katherine Pipes Deal who passed in June 2007 and brother, Floyd Deal who passed in February 2008. Frank retired from Verizon and served in the US Army. He loved to garden and attended East Sylva Baptist Church.
He is survived by son, Mark Deal and wife Jeannie of Concord, NC; two step-children, Pat Fox of Valerie, FL and Steve Jacobs of Asheville; brother, Fred Deal of Leasburg, NC; brother-in-laws, Benny Pipes of Murphy, Wayne Pipes and Jack Pipes both of Asheville; sister-in-laws, Janet Parker of Asheville and Lou Ellen Deyton; three sisters, Mildred Thompson of Tiger, GA, Susie Wiggins of Otto and Joan Deal of Franklin; three nephews, Terry Deal, Tony Deal and Jamie Wiggins; niece, Laura Clark; six grandchildren, Madison, Valerie and Haley Deal, Chris and Greg Jacobs and Joshua Fox and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2008 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Farmer will officiate. Burial will be in the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Rob Clark, Jamie Wiggins, Tony Deal, Terry Deal, David Pipes, Chris Jacobs, Gregg Jacobs and Jeff Pipes.
