Obituary for Francis Effort "PIP" Williams Jr.
Mr. Francis “PIP” Effort Williams Jr., 67, of Otto, NC passed away Friday August 7, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
“PIP” was born February 25, 1953 to the late Francis E. Williams Sr. and Evetta Louise Bailey Williams. In addition to his parents, PIP is also preceded in death by a baby brother Teddy Williams and his sister-in-law Debbie Williams.
Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Sheila Jean Williams of Otto, NC; son, Francis “Frank” E. Williams III and his wife Danielle of Franklin; daughters, Katherine “Kathy” Green and her husband Donnie Nix of Easley SC., Patricia "Patty" Williams of Goldsboro, NC.; sister, Evetta Williams; brothers, Tim Williams and wife Susan, Toby Williams, Ramon Williams and wife Cathy, Robin Williams and wife Lee; grandchildren, Michelle Green, Cole Harling, Camden Williams and his Fiancé Lexi Godwin, Alexys “Lexy” Williams, and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Williams was affectionately known by those who knew him as “PIP”. Mr. Williams was a Navy veteran proudly serving our great country from 1973 until 1977. He was of the Methodist faith. PIP was a real people person and never met a stranger, usually engaging in conversation just about anywhere he went. PIP loved his family and the grandchildren were the apple of his eye. He enjoyed yardwork/landscaping, helping others and was like a father to his children’s friends when they needed someone to talk to. He loved his dog “Lucy” and his bird “Dolly Feathers Williams”. PIP was a life member of the VFW, Macon County Memorial Post 7339.
A memorial service for Mr. Williams will be Monday August 10, 2020 at 7:00 PM in the Macon Funeral Home chapel. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until service time. Social distancing and wearing face coverings is suggested.
