Obituary for Eugene Carol "Gene" Morgan

Eugene Carol "Gene"  Morgan
Eugene “Gene” Carol Morgan, 79, of Franklin, passed away Friday, October 17, 2008.

Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Davis Morgan and Mattie Sanders Morgan. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Morgan and a sister, Edith Morgan Raby. Gene was a U.S. Navy veteran; member of the Masonic Lodge #627 for 50 years, member of Watauga Baptist Church; member of the Boilermaker Local #30; was a licensed pilot and he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean Trantham Morgan; four children, Joe Morgan and wife Edna, Tim Morgan and wife Freda and Marcus Morgan and wife Patti all of Franklin, Lisa Bowling of Sylva; six grandchildren, Nicholas Morgan, Cody Bowling, Jacob Morgan, Morgan Bowling, Cissy Holland and Denny Holland; four great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 19, at Watauga Baptist Church. Rev. Wesley Price will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Grandsons, Nicholas Morgan, Cody Bowling and Jacob Morgan will serve as Pallbearers along with Doug Johnson, Mitchell Bishop, J.J. McCall and Brody Montague.
