Euel Bertha Penland, 89, of Hayesville passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008.

Born in Towns County GA. She was the daughter of the late John Burton Penland and Mary Jane Johnson Penland. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Von Penland, two sisters, Ethel Sims and Irene Kimsey Phillips and three nephews, Harold and Floyd Kimsey and Ralph Phillips. Euel received her Masters Degree from the University of Georgia and retired as a school librarian in Forsyth county. She was also a member of Ledford's Chapel United Methodist Church in Hayesville.

She is survived by one brother, Wayne Penland of Franklin, one sister, Ruby Corpening of Hayesville, ten nephews , three nieces, twelve great nieces, fifteen great nephews, twenty great-great nephews, seventeen great-great nieces and one great-great-great niece.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Jackie Sellers will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
