Obituary for Ethel Isabell Ramey (Craine)

Ethel Isabell Craine Ramey, 73, of Otto, NC, passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006.

A native of Highlands, NC, she was the daughter of Carrie Henry Craine and the late Philip A. Craine. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Ramey who died in 1984; brothers, Albert and Earl Craine; and sisters, Lena Dendy and Marie McCoy. She was a homemaker, did mission work with Warmth from Heaven to West, VA, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to her mother, Carrie Henry Craine, she is survived by children, Louise Nixon and husband, Jim of Clayton, GA, Betty Craine, of Hendersonville, David Craine and wife, Beth of Greenville, SC, Lex Ramey and wife, Barbara and Lee Ramey and wife, Becky all of Franklin, Mark Ramey and wife, Peggy of Sylva, Jane Carter and husband Ronnie of Rabun Gap, GA, and Polly Ramey of Otto and Marshall Ramey of the home ; sisters, Mary Arnold and husband, Arthur of California, Catherine Craine of Clayton, GA, and Evelyn Picklesimer of Highlands; brothers, Chuck Craine and wife, Selma of Franklin, Richard Craine and wife, Irene of High Point, NC, Ernest Craine and wife, Linda of Lakemont, GA; seventeen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 10, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Cloer, Rev. Mike McConnell, Rev. Forman Bradley, and Rev. Alton Dendy will officiate. Burial will be in the Flats of Middle Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sat., Dec. 9, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Dwain Picklesimer, Archie Picklesimer, Daniel C. McCall, Jerry Schafer, Jeremy Schafer, and Michael Craine. Grandsons will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, 318 Calvary Church Road, Otto, NC 28763.
