Ervin Moffitt, 78, of Franklin, NC, entered into rest on Sunday, August 6, 2006.

A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Lawrence Moffitt and Bertha Ledford Moffitt. In addition he was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Moffitt Bateman and son-in-law, Tommy Bateman; one brother, Roy; and three sisters, Nellie, Nina and Ethel. Ervin was an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he served as deacon, choir director and Sunday School Teacher.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bernice Watts Moffitt; two children, Keith Moffitt and Cathie Sprinkle both of Franklin; two brothers, Ernest and Leonard; three sisters, Hermie, Anna Lee and Ida Lee; two grandchildren, Jeremy Sprinkle and Jonathan Sprinkle and wife Gwen Bradley Sprinkle.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 8, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Josh Brooks, Rev. Don Moffitt and Rev. Ernie Sanders will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, August 8, at Macon Funeral Home.
