Obituary for Ernest William Talley

Ernest William Talley, 69, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007.

A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Will and Dovie Henry Talley. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde and Roger. Ernest was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church and a member of the Macon County Coon Hunters Club. He was a logger and tree topper.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mattie Carpenter Talley; daughter, Connie Talley of Franklin; three sisters, Alice Holleman, Jane Cabe and Betty Cochran all of Franklin; two grandchildren, Dawson Edwin Phillips and Jadien Danielle Talley both of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Alton Dendy and Brian Terrell will officiate. Burial will be in the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 16, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Cloer, Larry Ammons, Mike Holland, Roger Gibson, Brian Terrell, Sean Bates, Dewayne Cloer and Brad Bishop.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Macon County Coon Hunters Club.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1648, Franklin, NC 28744.
