Obituary for Emory W. Mashburn

Emory W. Mashburn, 87, of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Franklin, NC, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2006.

A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Amos Mashburn and Cora Jane Holland Mashburn. In addition he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lena Massegee Mashburn, second wife, Lorene Crisp Mashburn, sister, Eula and two brothers, Everett and Verlin. Emory was a US army veteran of WWII and was a member of Walnut Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by three children, Bill Mashburn and wife Maureen of Raleigh, NC, Charles Mashburn of Florida, Jenella Hackett and husband Gary of Wyoming; five step children, Mary Sue Williams and husband Bill of Plano, Texas, Wilma Mae Crisp, Wanda K. Jones and husband, Lonnie, Nina Martin and Betty Jean "Jodie" Raby and husband Mickey all of Franklin of Franklin; one brother, Ennis Mashburn of Franklin; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at Walnut Creek Baptist Church. Rev. David Payne and Rev. Carson Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, at the Walnut Creek Baptist Church.
