Edythe Welch Calloway, 96, of Franklin, entered into rest on Thursday, March 10, 2005.

Born in Swain County in 1909, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edwin Welch and Ellen Piercy Welch. She was married to the late L. Henderson Calloway who died in 1987. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Callahan of Franklin and Ellen Robinson and husband, Bob of Cornelius, NC; three grandchildren, Melissa Hall and husband Danny of Franklin, Cynthia Ray and husband Scott of Mooresville and Wesley Robinson and wife Tara of Columbus, GA; six great grandchildren, Christy Jamison and husband Darryl, Jeremy Pyatt, Courtney Hall, Tyler Ray, Andrew Ray, Lily Robinson all of Franklin; four great-great grandchildren, Sydney Jamison, Hunter Jamison, Haley Pyatt and Preston Pyatt; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Harold Ball will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Danny Hall, Darryl Jamison, Jeremy Pyatt, Scott Ray, Danny Pyatt, and Wesley Robinson.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
