Dorothy Bryson, 84, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2008 in a local nursing home.
A native of Macon County, and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late George and Callie Russell Keener. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Bryson; son, Douglas Bryson; sisters Ella Peek, Genette Houston, Genelia Keener; brothers Carroll, George Jr., Lee and Ira Keener.
She is survived by one son, Rick Bryson and wife Belinda of Sylva,NC; four daughters, Gayle Pendergrass and husband Landy, Elayne Long and husband John of Franklin, Rosalyn Bond of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Jerri Williams and husband Tom of Temple, GA; one sister Ann Wiley of Lancaster, Virginia; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Reeves and Rev. Alton Dendy officiating. Burial will be in the Old Salem Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Rick Pendergrass, Ted Picklesimer, Kevin Davis, Barry Foxx, Mack Stanfield, Kenneth Houston, Landy Pendergrass and Tom Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons Billy Blackwell and Zach Picklesimer.
