Obituary for Dennis Shomper
Dennis LeRoy Shomper, beloved father and grandfather, 65, of Franklin, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2008.
Born in Lykens, PA, he was the son of Myra Bettinger Shomper and the late Benjamin Shomper. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his wife, Fran Shomper. Mr. Shomper enjoyed slot cars and Nascar. He moved to Franklin in 1974 and retired from American Battery in Franklin, NC. He was a dedicated father and grandfather and is loved very much.
He is survived by his mother; two sons, Daniel Shomper and wife Lisa of Highlands, NC and Jeff Shomper of Asheville, NC; brother, Ben Shomper of Livingston, MT; co-worker and friend, Tom Spies of Franklin, NC and five grandchildren, Michael Shomper, Amanda Shomper, Tiffany Gibbs, Danielle Shomper and Jennifer Stalica.
A Memorial Service and gathering of family and friends will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Mr. Shomper’s Residence.
In Memory of, donations can be made to Angel Hospice General Fund, 170 Church Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
