Obituary for David Lawson Snyder

David Lawson Snyder, 77, of Franklin, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

David was the son of the late Rev. Lawson Buchanan Snyder and the late Charlotte Mason Snyder. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carolyn Snyder; and infant sister, Mary Evelyn Snyder. He was a lifelong member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacons, former Choir Director, and former Church Clerk. He also served as Historian for the Macon Baptist Association. He worked for 25 years at Car City Gas and Oil on the night shift and was the Food Service Manager at Macon Program For Progress from 1995 to 2013. David also served as the Kitchen Manager at both Holly Springs Baptist Church and Ridgecrest Baptist Church for many years. David’s passion was cooking, and he loved to feed people.

He is survived by his wife, Benita Crawford Snyder; daughters, Sarah Charlotte Lovell (Stephen) of Franklin, Emily Ann Snyder (Justin Higdon) of Bowling Green, KY; two nephews, Lawson Raby of Franklin, C.J. Lambert of Gainesville, GA; and sister-in law, Rhonda Lambert of Gainesville, GA. Several great nephews and nieces, cousins, and aunts also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, March 15 at Holly Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Guy Duvall, Rev. Donnie Seagle, and Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in the Ridgecrest Baptist Church cemetery with graveside rites being officiated by Rev. Gary McCoy.

The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Lawson Raby, Andrew Raby, Eddie Mason, Morris Stamey, Larry Rose, and George Mathis. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Gary Holland, and Tom Lemieux.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Ridgecrest Baptist Church Cemetery.
