Obituary for Cynthia Booth (Merritt)

Cynthia Merritt Booth, 69, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 28, 2005, at her home in Glenville, NC.

Born in Madison, TN on August 25, 1935, she moved to Delray Beach, FL in 1946 with her parents, Herman and Hattie Mae "Peggy" Merritt. Cynthia graduated with honors from Seacrest High School in 1953, where she was a member of the tennis team. She attended Palm Beach Junior College, worked in the health care field in Delray and Boynton Beach, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Delray Beach for many years. She was an avid bowler and loved to play Scrabble. Cynthia and her family summered in the North Carolina Mountains and she became a permanent resident in 1981. She worked in the office of Dr. John Baumrucker for many years, in Highlands, NC and recently worked in home health care. She was a member of South Macon Baptist Church in Franklin, NC.

She is survived by her son, Ervin O. Booth, III and wife Kristi of Glenville, NC; daughter, Melanie Booth Kibler of Loxahatchee, FL; sister, Nancy Merritt Porcari and husband Jim of Sebring, FL; brother, Joe Merritt and wife Nancy of Boynton Beach, FL; grandchildren, Tamara Kibler Villarreal and husband Fabian, Hannah Marie Booth and Joshua William Booth all of Glenville, NC; niece, Suzanne Merritt Robinson and husband, Conrad, Jr. of Boynton Beach, FL; nephew, Jeffrey Alan Merritt of Jupiter, FL; and numerous loving cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Monday, August 1, at Macon Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 1, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Ronnie Owens will officiate. Private graveside service will follow in the family cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gideon's International.

Macon Funeral Home, Franklin, NC is in charge of the arrangements.
