Obituary for Clydas Guffey (Bishop)

Clydas Bishop Guffey, 57, of Franklin, entered into rest on Saturday, October 8, 2005.

A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of Ruby Mae Wilson Bishop and the late Quenton Bishop. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. Clydas worked at Tektone until 2000 and had previously worked at Burcliff Industries.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 35 years, Tom Guffey; one brother, Larry Bishop and wife Frances of Franklin; one sister, Nancy Young and husband Jason of Wilmington; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Bishop, Rev. Eddie Stillwell, Rev. Steve Webb and Rev. Mike Fox will officiate. Burial will be in the Watauga Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 10, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Craig Holland, Stacy Guffey, Buddy Buchanan, Alvin Johnson, Steve Harrin and Todd Ensley.

Memorial donations may be made to the Zion Hill Baptist Church, C/O Mary Wilson, 3110 Pumpkintown Road, Sylva, NC 28779 or Watauga Baptist Church Cemetery, C/O Norris Clouse, 2864 Watauga Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
