Obituary for Clayton Barbour

Clayton Odell Barbour, 86, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2007.

A native of Pennsylvania County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Quitman Barbour and Ida Myers Barbour. Clayton was a US Navy veteran during WWII. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Arnita Hall Barbour; children, J.W. Barbour of Gladys, VA, Lawson Barbour of Danville, VA, Ray Barbour of Ringo, VA, Robert Barbour of Franklin, Clayton Barbour, Jr. of California and Lee Quitman Barbour of Murphy; brothers and sisters, Aylar Lipscomb of NC, Alene Towler and Doris Finney both of Sandy Level, VA, Wilson Barbour of Martinville, VA and Morris Barbour of Gretna, VA; twelve grandchildren, Ronnie Barbour, Rhonda Watts, Kathy Adams, Teresa Barbour, Nancy Terry, Ray Barbour, Jr., Clayton Barbour, Brian Barbour, Daryl Barbour, Shannon Barbour, Arnita Barbour and Brandon Lee Barbour; seven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 18, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Stevens and Rev. Shane Danner will officiate. Burial will be in the Highland Burial Park City Cemetery, Virginia.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
