Claude Eugene “Gene” Oliver, 75, of Franklin, passed away Tues. Dec. 23, 2008.
Born in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Claude and Minnie Howard Oliver. He was a retired 1st Sgt. U.S. Army serving in the Korean War and Vietnam War. Gene served as a civilian employee for the U.S. Army as a military customs officer.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ledford Oliver and one son, Matthew Rodriguez of the home.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Enloe will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the 82nd Airborne Division of Fort Bragg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
Members of the 82nd Airborne Division of Fort Bragg will serve as Pallbearers.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
