Edward was my grandmother Mattie Bowers Smith’s nephew. Our family moved away from North Carolina many years ago but we saw Edward and Bessie every year at the Bowers reunion. We loved talking to them. Such a wonderful man. He had so many great stories to tell about all their travels. Deepest condolences to Bessie and all the family and friends. Bessie, we love you and hope to see you in the fall. Love and prayers. Alene, James and family
