Obituary for Carolyne Everett (Garrett)

Carolyne Elaine Garrett Everett, 72, of Franklin, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, February 11, 2024.

Born in Washington, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ira Simmons Garrett, Sr., and Sarah Frances Woolard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Everett; and three brothers, Ira Garrett, Jr., Charles Garrett, and Rivie Garrett. Mrs. Everett previously served as the director of Grace Martin Harwell Senior Center in Washington, NC. After retiring, she volunteered as a Guardian ad Litem and helped with foster parents and children. She also supported Magnolia Mission in Franklin, NC.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Everett was very active in church. She participated in Connect Groups, Bible studies, and the welcome team at Biltmore Church of Franklin. She was also very active at Harvest Church of Washington in numerous capacities before moving to the Franklin area. She enjoyed plants and flowers, playing board games, crafting, and in her younger years, she enjoyed waterskiing.

Mrs. Everett is survived by her husband of forty-five years, Wayne Bryant Everett; daughter, Sarah Towe (Gregory) of Cleveland, TN; son, Seth Everett (April) of China Grove, NC; and three grandchildren, Everett Towe, Caroline Towe, and Silas Everett. Also surviving are two sisters, Barbara Herring of Belhaven, NC, and June Roberson of Washington, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Biltmore Church. Pastor Patrick Traywick will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:30pm to 2:00pm, prior to the service at the church.

There will be an additional Celebration of Life service held at Harvest Church in Washington, NC on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 2:00pm. Pastor Tad Tankard will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-2:00pm, prior to the service at the church.
