Callie Bishop Cabe, 88, of the Pumpkintown Community in Sylva, NC, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Skyland Care Center in Sylva, NC.
Born in Gastonia, NC, she was the daughter of the late David Brown Bishop and Julia Anne Freeman Bishop. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John W., Edgar Bishop and Eulis M. Bishop; two sisters, Loriane B. Royal and Gladys Pendergrass. Callie loved to garden; loved the Lord and her family. She was a member of First Assembly of God.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Clyde Sidney Cabe; four children, Glenda Coggins Green of Franklin, Marcia Gibson and husband John of Franklin, Ginger Seay and husband James of Sylva and David Cabe and wife Cindy of Belmont; six sisters, Christine Brooks of Waynesville, Mildred Robinson of Altanta, GA, Jo Auletta of Franklin, Kitty Bishop of Franklin, Arlene Bishop (Huffman) of Sylva and Pauline Mathison of Sylva; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2009 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Bishop and Rev. Stephen Evans will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Robert Coggins Jr., Russell Coggins, William Coggins, Casey Seay, Travis Mulcahy, Chad McCall and Logan Shipley.
