Bernice Benton Kozakoff, 88, of Franklin, NC entered into rest on Friday, June 10, 2005.

A native of Charleston, SC, she was the daughter of the late Martin Garrick and Cora L. Whetstone Garrick. Bernice was employed at Sears where she worked as a purchasing agent. She subsequently owned and operated the Gift Shop in the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, SC until 1979. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Franklin, NC.

She is survived by her husband, John Kozakoff; three children, Cheryl Ogle of Charleston, SC, Simmie Stivender of Houston, Texas and George Jefferson Love of McDonough, GA; two sisters, Irma Berry of Leesburg, FL and Miriam Oliver of Salado, Texas; one brother, Wyman Garrick of Boyalusa, LA; six grandchildren, Brandy Ogle of Charleston, SC, Julie Smith of Ashboro, NC, Scott Love and Michael Love of Thomasville, NC , Eric Stivender and Errol Stivender of Houston, TX.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Harold Ball will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at Macon Funeral Home.
