Barbara Marie Hummel, 68, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2008.

Born in Rabun County, GA, she was the daughter of Milford Kell and the late Annie Ledbetter Kell. Barbara was married to the late Bob Hummel who died August 1, 1997. She was a member of Franklin Church of God and she retired from Belden.

In addition to her father, she is survived by a son, Stan Hummel of Franklin; three sisters, Belva Greenwood, Ruby Southards and Betty Madison all of Franklin; a brother Elmer Kell of Robbinsville, NC; two grandchildren, Brandie Hummel and Stephen Hummel; several nieces and nephews and her companion and best friend, Homer Talley of Franklin.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, at Franklin Church of God. Rev. Allen Taylor, Rev. Phillip Cochran and Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, February 25, at Franklin Church of God.

Pallbearers will be James Greenwood, Mike Kell, Morris Cook, Brian Southard, Tim Farmer, Jamie Thompson, Darren Talley, Stephen Hummel and Max Hooper.
