Obituary for Anita Rae Baker (Schoonover)

Anita Baker, of Covington, Ga., died Thursday, May 7, 2009, at a nursing and rehab center, at the age of 70.

She was born in Wheaton, Ill., to the late John Dale and Alice Fletcher Schoonover. Preceded in death by her husband, George Wilburn Baker, they would have been married for 52 years. She was a military wife and enjoyed sewing, reading and movies.

Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Andrea Richardson of Sandston, Va., and Angela and John Clingerman of Covington; sons and daughter-in-law, Bob and Pat Baker of Newnan, Ga., and Billy Baker of Salisbury; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Sam Zook of Urbana, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Juanita Baker of Franklin and Maria Schoonover of Marion, Ohio; brother-in-law and wife, Mac and Sheila Baker of Salisbury; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Graveside Service for Mrs. Baker will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, May 16, at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements.
