Andrew R. "Andy" Demont, III, 59, of Otto, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2006,after a long battle with lung cancer.

A native of Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Andrew R. Demont, II and Dorothy Leon Fitzsimmons Demont. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Demont who died in 2002. He was a retired US Navy veteran as a boiler repairman; a member of the Roscigno Vecchia Foundation; American Legion Post 108; was proud to be a guardian ad litem; and was a very active member of Coweeta Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of thirteen years, Cynthia Anne "Cindy" Wilson Demont; five children, Gregory Anthony Demont of Evansville, IN, Dorothy Jill Demont of Las Vegas, NV, Andrew Robert Demont, IV of Charlotte, NC, Gionny Downey Demont and Jacoby Porter Demont, both of Otto, NC; one brother, Thomas Resciniti Demont of Pittsburgh, PA; three grandchildren, Dustin, Aaron and Lance; two nieces and two nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 14 at Coweeta Baptist Church. Rev. Davis Hooper will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 13, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Andy's brother, Tom, Brother-in-law, Timer and four sons, Gregg, Rob, Gionny and Jacoby.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Coweeta Baptist Church Building Fund, C/O Karen Keener, 105 Long Road, Franklin, NC 28734, or American Cancer Society, Macon County Unit, P.O. Box 1648, Franklin, NC 28744.
