Obituary for Alton Eugene "Gene" Frizzell

Alton Eugene "Gene" Frizzell, 90, of Franklin, NC, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2006.

Born in Webster, NC, he was the son of the late Wilburn Don Frizzell and Selma Lewis Frizzell. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Velma Louise Morgan Frizzell who died May 11, 1989; infant daughter; and brothers, Clifford, George, Flenn and Hayes Dean and sisters, Faye Watts and Christine Frizzell. He owned Frizzell Farm Supply and was a member of Mount Hope Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Hope Frizzell; daughter, Dottie Dockery and husband Jack of Franklin; two step sons, Rev. Larry Kling of Ono Island, Alabama and Dr. Gary L. Kling of Greensboro, NC; brothers, Grady Frizzell of California, Carroll Frizzell and Darrell Frizzell both of Sylva, sisters, Bonnie Dietz and Doris Crowe both of Sylva, Helen Bradshaw of California and Elizabeth Gay of Westville, Ohio; three grandchildren, Brent Dockery, Brian Dockery and wife, Vickie, and Pamela Shetley and husband, Michael; three great grandchildren, Autumn, Austin & Samuel; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 6, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Wiley Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in the Stillwell Cemetery, Jackson County.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 5, at Macon Funeral Home.
