Alice McConnell Miller, 71, of Scaly Mountain, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009.
Born in Scaly Mountain, NC, she was the daughter of Martha Anders McConnell Kell and the late Ray McConnell. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her step father, Donald Kell; three brothers, James, George and Kenneth McConnell, She retired from Cashiers Plastics after 23 ½ years. Alice loved to quilt and was a member of Scaly Mountain Church of God.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Richard Miller; two sons, Dale Miller and wife Lisa and Donald “Blue” Miller both of Scaly Mountain; daughters, Shelia Gail Kinsey and husband Deed of Cashiers and Teresa Dryman Holbrooks of Scaly Mountain; sister, Emma Jane Miller of Scaly Mountain; two brothers, Charles R. McConnell and Samuel R. McConnell both of Otto; four step-sisters; one step-brother; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2009 at Scaly Mountain Church of God. Rev. Al Seizmore, Rev. Jake Roberson and Rev. Johnny Norris will officiate. Burial will be in the Scaly Mountain Methodist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Macon Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Steven Miller, Brett Morrison, Dean Dryman, Jerry Miller, Brian Miller and Eddie Miller.
Memorial donations can be made to Scaly Mountain Church of God, the Fire Department or Women’s Club for Student Scholarship Fund.
