Obituary for David C. Duvall

David Clark Duvall, 67, of Franklin passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018, after a period of declining health. He was a native of Franklin and a 1968 graduate of Franklin High School. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Western Carolina University and worked as Head of Circulation at Hunter Library (WCU) for 31 years.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Marie Duvall, two brothers, Jackie West and Mark Duvall, and two infant brothers Jeffery and Boone Duvall.
David is survived by his ex-wife and dear friend Rachel Duvall of Franklin, one daughter, Wendy Duvall (Stephen) of Franklin, and one son, Travis Duvall (Jamie) of Chesapeake, VA; four sisters, Nancy Wilson of Franklin, Kathy Hart (Tom) of Highlands, Jennifer Nation of Franklin, and Rexanna Duvall (Don) of Franklin; special cousin, Mike Chapman of Franklin; three grandchildren, Jared Duvall of Franklin, and Eli and Adalyn Duvall of Chesapeake, VA; and three nephews, Scotty Sizemore of San Francisco, CA, Eric Sizemore of Bull Head City, AZ, and Dylan Duvall of Atlanta, GA.
David was an avid Civil War buff, gun collector, historian, and baseball fan. He played guitar, sang, and loved Johnny Cash. He was also a volunteer at CareNet.
A gathering of friends will be held at Macon Funeral Home from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 1, followed by a time of sharing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CareNet of Franklin or to a charity of your choice.
David wanted to be remembered as a man who loved his family dearly. He will be greatly missed.
